Grizzly Boot

Quoddy's Tent Sale is imminent. The hand sewn moccasin specialists are following up on last year's crazy clearance sale with another, starting officially Wednesday 8/28 at noon EST. Last year, I picked up a pair of their Grizzly boots with a gummy crepe sole (here's a review I did on my Grizzly boots), which wear really well with anything ruggedly Americana - denim, chambray shirt, a cozy sweater or woodsy jacket. I'd wager to say all of their inventory does the same. My other pick would be the quirky Ring Boot if available in your size, but if you're looking for something a little more conventional, the loafer or driver would also be solid choices. There aren't a lot of other shoemakers that make similar styles, especially at these types of prices (last year was $99-$149).

Consensus (and my experience) say to go true to size to your Brannock if wearing socks, though some say for sockless models to size down 1/2 for a snug fit. For reference, I wear an 8D in most Allen Edmonds lasts, a 7.5 in Red Wing and Wolverine, and no freaking idea in Vans. I took an 8 in the Quoddy Grizzly.

Here's the other thing: the sale doesn't start until tomorrow, but this link below is currently showing a lot of stock with sale prices that you can add to your cart and, it appears, check out with. I'm not 100% certain it's the final stock list for the sale, but it would be awfully weird for it to be a separate cache of footwear they have listed in individual pairs at sale sizes. The picture filenames also start with "TENT_SALE_2019" as well, so. That being said, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want people to start making purchases on leaked links prior to the opening, so if nothing else, you may be able to scout out your size for the ol' instapurchase tomorrow. Don't say I never got ya anything.
